Chris was born in Windsor ON, and grew up in Oakville. He has been singing and playing lead and rhythm guitar for many different bands and theatre projects for the past 30 years. Chris has an appreciation for most genres of music and understands the role music plays in our lives. He does love listening to and playing country rock though. One of his first jobs was working in a music studio which allows him to help set up and monitor the sound for the band. Chris has been a member of the Renaissance Band for over 4 years, and has earned the nickname "Diva" for his need of perfection. Chris enjoys being able to perform on stage playing many different genres of music.
Jeff was born in an Industrial "Cotton Town" near Manchester England, and moved to Canada at the tender age of thirteen. He was influenced by both the "British Invasion" bands and North American" bands who at the time were in competition with one another. Jeff began playing and singing at sixteen and has been the frontman for many successful bands. Jeff is a dedicated volunteer at the Midland Culture Center providing sound and lighting to many of their events and shows. You can also see Jeff performing at local pubs and eateries in and around the Simcoe County area with Hayley. Jeff joined the Renaissance Band in 2017, and his love of music and performing show when he is on stage. Thankfully he has no plans on stopping anytime soon.
Hayley has been singing since age 6. In grade school she was chosen for solos, choirs, etc. While living in Sudbury, Hayley was taught by an amazing vocal trainer. who gave her the tools and desire to sing lead vocals and complex harmonies. Hayley spent time on the road performing on stage, and at friends weddings. pursing her dreams. Her musical influences span from 40's standards to her husband's favourite hard rock tunes. Hayley married and made her home in Midland. As the newest member of the Renaissance Band, Hayley brings her amazing voice and personality to the stage, while maintaining control of the "men of the band". You can also catch Hayley performing with Jeff Shawcross at local pubs and eateries in and around the Midland area.
Mark grew up in Malton, ON and now lives in Victoria Harbour. He started playing guitar at the age of 12, and has been playing bass guitar for the last 6 years. Mark and drummer Bill Graham are childhood friends who have been playing music together since they were very young boys. Mark was instrumental in the forming and growth of the Renaissance Band. Mark's expertise with the PA and lighting system allows the band to quickly set up and provide a professional sound to their audience. This skill has earned Mark with the nickname "Mr. Buttons". Mark's musical influences include Gordon Lightfoot, Beatles, Rush, Colin James and many, many others. He enjoys listening to all genres of music from Country, the blues, classical and of course rock. Mark proudly owns a large collection of guitars, and loves saying "Not enough monitors".
Billy “Rockstar” Graham was born and raised in Scarborough, and has been playing a drum beat all his life. He has enjoyed playing in numerous bands, with his childhood friend bass player Mark Westbury, but he loves being a member of the Renaissance Band. Bill is the happiest guy you will ever meet, always commenting "I love that song." He enjoys all music and is always willing to play any requests.
